Quechee Gorge Trails and Shops Open for Business

Quechee, Vermont – [September 9, 2024] – The Quechee Gorge trails and shops are open for business and welcoming visitors, despite some GPS systems potentially rerouting travelers around the gorge bridge due to ongoing construction.

"We want to assure everyone that the Quechee Gorge area is open and accessible," says Havah Armstrong Walther, Executive Director of the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce. "Visitors can still enjoy the stunning views of the gorge, hike the trails, and experience the unique shops and restaurants in the area."

The bridge construction project, which is expected to be completed by June 2026, is causing some GPS systems to reroute traffic. However, businesses in the Route 4 corridor area are easily accessible via clearly marked detours.

"We encourage visitors to follow the detour signs or use a map to find their way to the gorge," adds Armstrong Walther. "We are open and ready to provide a memorable experience for everyone."

Visitors to the Quechee Gorge can enjoy a variety of activities, including:

  • Hiking the State Park trails down into the gorge
  • Taking a break in the beautiful Visitors Center
  • Exploring the unique shops and art galleries
  • Dining at one of the many restaurants with delicious local cuisine
  • Visiting the Quechee Gorge Village and its historic buildings
  • Taking in the breathtaking views of Vermont's deepest gorge
