Advance Transit Enhances Upper Valley Public Transportation
Options with Restoration of Lot 9 Shuttle Service
Advance Transit (AT) is pleased to announce the return of the Lot 9 Shuttle service, effective Monday, April 7, 2025. This shuttle provides a free, frequent public transportation option between Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) and the Lot 9 parking area, with additional stops along Medical Center Drive.
Responding to the increasing demand for parking at DHMC, Advance Transit has reintroduced this vital service to help alleviate congestion and improve traffic management. The Lot 9 Shuttle operates frequently, running every 15 minutes, and was made possible with the support of Dartmouth Health.
The Lot 9 Shuttle service was previously suspended in 2022. Its reinstatement reflects the ongoing partnership between Advance Transit and Dartmouth Health to address the evolving transportation needs of the Upper Valley community.
“Dartmouth Health, anchored by DHMC, is a critical economic and healthcare engine for our region,” said Adams Carroll, AT Executive Director. “The reintroduction of the Lot 9 Shuttle addresses the transportation needs of this major employer and the broader community. By utilizing intercept parking and public transit, we can collectively ease traffic burdens and improve regional mobility.”
The Lot 9 Shuttle complements the existing Lot 20 Shuttle service, further enhancing transportation options for the DHMC community. Both shuttle services are part of Advance Transit’s commitment to providing reliable and accessible public transportation in the Upper Valley.
