About Us
The Main Street Museum is a unique repository of artifacts and a vibrant public performance space, dedicated to educating, entertaining, and inspiring curiosity. Each exhibit tells a story about humanity and the complex—sometimes bewildering—universe we inhabit.
Our mission is to create eclectic experiences that evoke wonder and prompt big questions about history, culture, music, and art. We believe that our relationships with objects—and with each other—are far more intricate than they are often given credit for, offering rich opportunities for reflection and connection.
As a gathering place, the Main Street Museum serves as a venue for people and performances that don’t always fit neatly into conventional molds. Our Main Stage, featuring a beautifully restored player piano, is the heart of the Museum’s entertainment offerings. With sound, lights, and an engaging lineup of events maintained by our dedicated volunteers, the Museum showcases a diverse range of local musicians, authors, poets, and artists. From live performances to our extensive collection of 78rpm recordings, sheet music, piano rolls, and other music memorabilia, we celebrate all forms of artistic expression.
The Museum relies on individual donations and event rental fees to sustain our programming and operations.
Our goal is to keep cultural experiences accessible and affordable for everyone. We remain proudly 'by donation' for visitors, ensuring that our space remains open to all who wish to explore, learn, and be inspired.
