New advancements in location analytics and the proliferation of mobile devices have turned consumers into censors and remote parts of the world into visibility. We can now use big data from cellular networks, earth observation platforms - like satellites and buoys, etc. to track, predict and map many aspects of global challenges like hurricanes, tsunamis, refuge migrations and more.
