Unraveling the Mystery of Making Soap
During this three hour workshop we will be making soap using a cold process recipe. This is the basic form of handmade soap making. A blend of oils is mixed with a solution of lye and water, stirred until thickened, and poured into a mold. This technique is called "cold" process because there is no cooking involved, beyond heating the oils enough to liquefy them. We will also be adding essential oils for scent. The results are a solid bar of handmade soap that smells delightful and lathers unbelievably.
Participants will go home with a bar of homemade soap! Pre-registration required by Nov. 29, 2010 as space is limited, please call 802-359-5000 ext. 223.
