Peril in the Ponds: Presentation and Book Signing

Join author and wetlands biologist Judy Helgen for a presentation about the discovery of deformed frogs in a Minnesota pond by middle school students and how it led to our current understanding of the complex relationships within a wetland ecosystem. Dr. Helgen, a retired biologist with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will discuss how citizen scientists, including middle school students, played an important role in helping researchers understand the causes of frog deformities. Dr. Helgen will also lead an informal presentation at the Montshire’s live amphibian exhibit and be available to sign copies of book following her presentation.
