James K. Zimmerman in Norwich
Join poet James K. Zimmerman for a reading from his new collection Uncertainty! In Uncertainty, James K. Zimmerman weaves a thread that begins with the Big Bang – and what may have preceded it – then traverses the depth and breadth of the Anthropocene, including our regard for oil as a gift and how the detritus of our way of life degrades our environment. From there, in the voices of robots, AI, and interstellar satellites, he interrogates how these creations might reflect on us, and how they might represent us to the cosmos. Finally, he finds a glimmer of hope. James K. Zimmerman's work appears in American Life in Poetry, Folio, Lumina, Nimrod, Pleiades, Rattle, and elsewhere. Author of five volumes of poetry – most recently “The Further Adventures of Zen Patriarch Dogen” and “Uncertainty” – he values his neurodivergence as essential to his creative inspiration.
