Experimenting in Writing: An Afternoon of Writing and Science at the Montshire

Monday, August 19, 1-5 pm

Join us for an afternoon of writing activities indoors and out as our education staff team up with our friends from the Green Mountain Writing Project to offer an afternoon’s worth of activities focused on writing. Activities will range from hour-long writing workshops and “Writing Marathons” inspired by the Museum’s exhibits and landscape, to “Write Here!"—short, self-directed opportunities to add your written words to selected exhibits.

Schedule:

1 p.m. Writing Workshop

1–5 p.m. Write Here! Add your voice to four museum exhibits about what you see, hear, smell, or feel

2 p.m. Writing Marathons—a tour of the museum’s outdoor landscapes with four writing stops

2:30 p.m. Writing at the Tanks—a facilitated mini-writing workshop at the Museum’s aquariums

3 p.m. Writing Marathons

3:30 p.m. Words from Clouds—a facilitated mini-writing workshop at the Museum’s Sea of Clouds exhibit

4 p.m. Writing Workshop—we’ll share our work from the afternoon

Free with museum admission.
