Drawing from Nature: Picturing Plants

Drawing plants helps us to take the time to really see and learn from them - get started in this full-day workshop. Whether examining the petals, stamens and pistils of tiny flowers or the venation of a spectacular leaf, or contemplating a centuries-old matriarch of a shade tree, there are great pleasures to be gained from plants. Drawing them helps us to take the time to really see and learn from them. The workshop will include a variety of techniques in graphite and pen, including activities to sharpen perception and skills, practice at composition and problem-solving, and an extended time drawing a favorite subject.   This program will be led by Susan Sawyer, an artist-naturalist with over 30 years experience as a teacher and freelance artist. All levels welcome. Ages 16+. Max:  12 participants. Fee:  $90 Montshire members, $100 non-members plus $15 materials fee (to be collected at registration). Register online.
