Join author Dan Chiasson, in conversation with Makenna Goodman, to celebrate his new book Bernie for Burlington: The Rise of the People's Politician! This "people's epic" is the story of the political and cultural transformation of the State of Vermont in the late twentieth century, and of the rise of Bernie Sanders, drawing on interviews with those closest to Bernie and on the author's own firsthand memory of growing up in "a unique American experiment," the People's Republic of Burlington, Vermont. Dan Chiasson is the author of seven books, and a regular contributor to The New Yorker and The New York Review of Books. He is the Chair of the English Department at Wellesley College in Massachusetts. Makenna Goodman is the author of two novels, and has written for international publications including the New York Review of Books, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Review of Books, Harvard Review, The White Review, BOMB, and more. Also an editor, she is based in Vermont.
