Jan 24 - Apr 5    Farmers, Warriors, Builders: The Hidden Life of Ants
January 24–April 5, 2015 —Small yet abundant, with complex and wildly diverse lifestyles, ants are everywhere, living lives mostly hidden from our view. What if we could see into their world...on their level? What would we learn? What parallels could we draw between them and us?

Farmers, Warriors, Builders: The Hidden Life of Ants explores how ants face problems similar to ours: obtaining and distributing resources, allocating labor and energy, maintaining civil unity, and defending against outsiders. Their lives are at once familiar and strange. Familiar because human societies accomplish similar tasks; strange because ants perform those tasks with behaviors and tools unique to their world, and with a single-minded savagery that can be startling.

Feb 28 - Apr 5    Maple Sugaring Season at Sugarbush Farm
In early spring the sap starts to flow. Call Sugarbush Farm to find out the best days to visit and see the sap being boiled into syrup. Sap flow and boiling schedule is determined by cold nights and warm days so its hard to tell more than a couple days ahead whether the weather will be perfect. The Sugarhouse, sample room for maple syrup, maple products, and cheese and the farm store are always open even if the weather isn't perfect for boiling. The perfect weather for sugaring is also the perfect kind of weather for mud so also call to check on road condtions.
